Fall 2010 auditions!

This comes a few days early, but I’d like to announce that auditions for the fall 2010 season are open! If you are interested in joining Sekai no Melody, please head over to the Auditions page and send in your audition! No experience necessary; we accept members of all genders, skill levels, and nationalities.

This is always the best time to audition because it means you’ll be able to jump right in and join us for our annual Christmas album, a 20-song singing/mixing extravaganza that culminates in gorgeous music, released on Christmas morning.

New URL, new server.

Hey everyone. Thank you so much for being understanding during our server issues. We were basically the victims of a personal attack from none other than our former webhost himself. As such, I have taken SnM’s site completely away from his servers and will basically never do business with him again. Unfortunately, he still holds our domain name Sekainomelody.com; I have done everything I can to get it back – from calling to texting to emailing to messaging to using secondary messengers. Our former host still remains stubborn enough to refuse contact (which really makes me doubt the supposed quality of his hosting for many of his other clients). As such, we will begin using Sekainomelody.org until the .com domain expires, in which case we will (hopefully) be able to reclaim it and redirect it to this location.

I apologize for any trouble this move may have caused. I will need everyone’s help to bring back what we used to have (and sadly much of it is gone), but here is what you can do:

• Repopulate the forums
• Advertising team – go through our Soundclick, Veoh, YouTube, etc. videos and make sure all links are redirected to Sekainomelody.org instead of .com
• Make posts on your personal blogs (if you have them) mentioning the change in URL
• If any of your friends were at AX, please tell them about the change in URL

It was an absolutely cruel thing to suffer an attack so soon after our successes at AX, where we handed out so many promotional materials with our old URL on them. Even the prize codes, which were directed to be sent to info@sekainomelody.com, can no longer be claimed since the .com email address no longer works. I feel sorry for the people who won’t be able to claim their prizes (especially those that donated for them), but clearly our attackers do not sympathize.

This has happened before, but we’ve always risen from the ashes and become great again. Let’s do it once more, shall we?

Small discography downtime

Hey members and fellow listeners! I’m currently moving the discography from our old server to a new one, so the links for each of the discography pages might be broken for a few hours. Just a heads up, and they should be fully functional by tomorrow. Thanks!

EDIT: As of February 12th, 2009, the discography server is now updated and has moved to http://disco.sekainomelody.org. A few items were lost during the process, but I tried to save everything that I could. Some things like the 12-Weeks Challenge and Audition albums have not been reuploaded due to the space they were consuming and the fact that they are not true official releases (prevamp stuff will get it’s own separate section on the site, eventually). Any questions about the new server, just ask! If you need access again, just PM me or comment here.
